You may also love plants but be hesitant to buy them because you are afraid they will harm your pet. In this article, I have compiled for you which plants are harmful and which plants are harmless.

Toxic Plants:

(Toxic plants do not cause poisoning through gas release into the air or any other means unless your cat or dog eats them.)

1. Asparagus (Asparagus Fern):

Asparagus, the most elegant plant in the living room with its tulle leaves, is unfortunately a toxic plant for cats and dogs. If a cat or dog eats the fruit or seeds of this plant, they may show symptoms such as abdominal pain and vomiting. 🙁

2. Corn Plant (Dracena Massengena):

The corn plant is harmful to both cats and dogs. The plant contains the chemical compound saponin, which is toxic.

3. Difenbachia (Dieffenbachia):

Dieffenbachia, a must-have in every home in the 90s, is toxic to cats and dogs. Dieffenbachia creates irritation in the mouth with the chemicals it contains and can cause poisoning. In addition to eating the plant, pets should also be kept away from the water the plant sweats.

4. Elephant Ear (Colocasia):

It contains the same chemicals as dieffenbachia and the symptoms of poisoning are similar.

5. Cortadum & Pothos:

Cortadum and Pothos, which are among the most popular house vines and grow very quickly, can cause toxicity in pets.

6. Begonia:

Almost all species of Begonias, a very large family of indoor plants, are toxic to cats and dogs.

7. Aloe Vera:

I know you didn't expect this from Aloe Vera, which we make tea, mask, cream and even food out of; which we can't stop praising to each other, but unfortunately, the alonin in the jelly-like body of Aloe Vera is toxic to pets...

4. Staghorn Fern:

Staghorn ferns, a type of air plant, grow beautifully when supported by the ground. They are hung on the wall to exchange air and humidity. These pet-friendly plants, which resemble stag horns, have begun to take their place in decoration as living works of art in recent years.

5. Prayer Flower (Calathea):

Also known as Kalatya, it is an easy-care plant that can live comfortably on desks and in narrow spaces because it does not exceed 20 centimeters in height. The prayer flower gets its name because it lifts its leaves upwards in the evening under the influence of light. They like constantly moist soil, medium light is ideal for them.

6. Mountain Palm (Chamaedorea Elegans):

Another plant that is both safe for our living friends and easy to care for those who are new to plant growing is the mountain palm tree... It is a popular palm species because it can adapt to all kinds of weather conditions. Its leaves last up to 40 days after being cut. 7. Ribbon Flower (Chlorophytum Comosum):

8. Orchids:

Orchid, which instantly beautifies its environment with its elegant appearance, is another animal-friendly plant with its harmless flowers.
